VP of Finance
Reporting to the President and CEO, the VP of Finance is responsible for all financial operations of the company, providing strategic, tactical guidance to the ownership and management team, while overseeing daily financial activities. The VP of Finance is plays a key role within the senior management team.
Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting.
Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP.)
Oversee the accounting function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the external auditors as necessary.
Maintain financial records for each project in a manner that facilitates management reports.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of individual projects
Monitor risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized.
Advise the organization's leadership on financial matters.
Negotiate with Bank for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required, CPA a plus .
A minimum of 10-15 years’ experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), costing and internal controls are essential.
Experience in construction and remediation industry cost controls and accounting.
Previous experience with federal and commercial contracts.
A/E/C Industry experience preferred.
Experience with Deltek Vision and/or specific industry software required.
Significant knowledge of design and consulting industry cost controls and accounting.
Knowledge of operations and maintenance industry cost controls and accounting. .
Practical problem solving ability with experience in earned value management, trending, and forecasting.
Proficient with MS Office suite, especially Excel.
Excellent organizational, time management, multi-tasking and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the capability to explain complex financial issues to non-finance people.
